It begins at the Porto di Tignale, in Prà de la Fam,

where the lake sparkles under the morning light. Here, among the scents of lemons and oranges from the historic Limonaia, you immediately breathe that Mediterranean atmosphere which makes Garda unique.

The CAI 260 trail climbs steeply: the first steps demand energy, but soon the effort gives way to wonder. Behind you, the lake stretches out like a sea; ahead, centuries-old olive groves and stone walls tell the story of the farmers’ patience.

In Oldesio, the small church of San Rocco nd a fresh fountain welcome you—perfect for a break. A little further on, the village of Gardola holds the church of San Pietro, a witness to centuries of history. 

The ascent towards the Sanctuary of Montecastello is gentle and dotted with the Chapels of the Rosary. 

When you reach the top (687 m), you stand before one of the most evocative places on Garda: the Sanctuary suspended between sky and water, a destination for pilgrims and a panoramic viewpoint that leaves you speechless.

If you still have energy, climb up to nearby Monte Cas (779 m, CAI 266): here, the old posts from the Great War blend with a panorama that embraces both lake and mountains.

The descent towards Prabione  is more relaxed, with the Museo del Parco dell’Alto Garda Bresciano telling the story of local life and traditions.
The final stretch, along trails CAI 266 and 267, is a small masterpiece: steps carved into the rock, deep gorges, the stream rushing impetuously, and finally the village of Campione del Garda, with the remains of the old cotton mill and the memories of past labor.
