Nordic Walking has been defined as a brisk walk using special walking poles.
The general concept of Nordic walking was developed using the basic methods of off-season training and teaching of cross-country skiing.
Compared to regular walking, Nordic Walking involves the application of a force to the poles with every step.
This implies the use of the entire body (with greater intensity) and determines the involvement of muscles not used in normal walking.
