THEATRE COMPANY L’ARCHIBUGIO PRESENTS
“THE BATTLE OF TIGNALE”

Giovanni Beatrice, known as Zanzanù, is a figure who has inhabited the folkloric imagination of the Lake Garda area for centuries. Captured and killed in Tignale in the summer of 1617, the famous bandit of the lake—who managed to stand up to the Serenissima for over fifteen yearsgave rise, almost immediately, to a dense web of myths and legends that amplified his deeds and sealed his fate.

But what was the reality behind this narrative? Who was the man beyond the bandit? And who were those who put an end to his life, and for what reasons?

To explore these questions and offer the public a deeper and more informed perspective on the figure of Zanzanù, we invite you to attend the performance.

Three free-admission performances at 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM
Shuttle bus service from Santa Libera car park to the Sanctuary.
